Product description
Symphytum officinale, commonly known as Comfrey, is a versatile and attractive perennial. Its drooping clusters of bell-shaped flowers appear from May to July in shades of purple, pink, or cream, drawing in bees and other pollinators. The large, hairy leaves create vigorous ground cover and can be harvested to produce organic liquid fertiliser for the garden. A UK native, comfrey thrives in all soil types and makes a practical yet decorative addition to wildlife-friendly and productive gardens. Growing Instructions Plant in any soil in sun or partial shade. Comfrey spreads via rhizomes and can self-seed, so clumps should be divided and managed to prevent unwanted spreading. Plants die back in autumn and re-emerge in spring. Handle with care: irritant to skin and eyes; harmful if eaten. Images shown are for guidance only and show the expected results of plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g., deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). Decorative pots are not supplied.
