About this item
- Extra Sweet Heritage Sweet Corn: Zuccherino is a traditional heritage sweet corn variety producing beautifully golden, tender cobs with a naturally sweet flavour. Ideal for boiling, grilling, barbecuing or enjoying fresh straight from the garden.
- Vigorous & Productive Plants: This mid-early variety grows strong, upright plants reaching approximately 150–180cm tall, producing uniform cobs around 20–22cm long. A reliable cropper for home gardeners and allotments.
- Perfect for UK Growing Conditions: Well suited to the UK climate, sweet corn thrives in sunny, sheltered positions with fertile soil. Best grown in blocks rather than rows to improve pollination and cob development.
- Harvest Fresh for Best Flavour: Sow sweet corn seeds from April to June once the soil has warmed, either directly outdoors or in pots under cover for transplanting later. Sow seeds around 2cm deep and space plants approximately 30–40cm apart in blocks rather than single rows. Grow in a sunny, sheltered position in fertile, well-drained soil and keep well-watered during dry periods. Harvest from August to October when cobs feel full and kernels release a milky juice when pressed. SEEDS: 55 Approx.
- Seed Quality: Produced by a historic Italian seed house with over 240 years of excellence. Seeds are packed in protective, recyclable packets to preserve freshness and germination quality – bringing authentic Italian growing to your garden.
