Sweet almond essential oil - Prunus amygdalus dulcis- The almond tree can reach between 3 to 5 m in height. With a smooth trunk, green and sometimes yellow when it is young, it later becomes cracked, squamous, creamy or greyish in mature trees. They are deciduous, with simple, lanceolate long, narrow and pointed leaves that are 7,5 to 12,5 cm long and intensely green, with jagged or scalloped edges. The flour can appear alone or in groups of 2 to 4, it is pentamerous with five sepals and five petals of variable colour that can be between white and pinkish depending on the species, which are 3 to 5 cm in diameter. The fruits, 3 to 5 cm long drupes with tough exocarp and mesocarp and a hard, oblong, elypsoidal endocarp with dry meat, tomentose, green and dehiscent. It takes from 5 to 6 months to mature since it . Sweet almond oil is extracted by the cold pressing of dry almonds. Sweet almond oil is slightly yellowish and has a slightly nutty odor.
