Product Description Suttons Seeds telegraph improved cucumber seeds excellent for salads and sandwiches. A much improved strain of this popular cucumber. Culture: sow singly in pots February-May. Germinate at 15 degree C for non-hybrids. F1 hybrids can be temperature sensitive and we recommend temperatures of 25 degree C day and 20 degree C night for optimum germination. Excellent cucumbers can also be grown in frames and unheated greenhouses. (20 Weeks maturity). Varieties with powdery mildew resistance should not be sown before the beginning of March. Sowing and growing - sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approximate 15-20 degree C using a good quality compost. Cover seeds with 13 mm sieved compost (germination 6-9 days). Transplant seedlings singly into 75 mm pots, grow on and plant into greenhouse border or grow bags spacing plants 45 cm apart. Keep plants well watered and feed regularly. Plants produce both male and female flowers. Remove male flowers (without embryo fruit's) before they open to prevent pollination and bitter fruit's. Sowing - cropping approximate 12 weeks.
