Our new surface pH meter TMT-98109 has a special pH electrode with an extra flat glass membrane and a diaphragm mounted at membrane height. The flat membrane is suitable for measurements on surfaces as well as for measurements in liquids. The TMT-98109 is suitable for measuring surfaces such as skin, dirt, leather, paper, emulsion, scalp and hair strands, food, etc. but also for measuring the PH value in any liquid, water, oil, lemonade to semi-permanent substances such as yogurt, pudding, mustard. Due to their small surface, flat membranes have a high resistance. The large surface tension makes the membrane glass very sensitive. During the measurement, the flat membrane and the diaphragm should be on the sample as planned and if necessary to activate the entire membrane surface, the surface to be examined can be moistened with a minimum amount of liquid. The water used for moistening should have conductivity below 0.15 μS/cm and pH between 6.8 and 7.2. Ordinary distilled water fulfils this purpose.
