The temperature probe is a vital component inside your Lay Z Spa heater unit. It monitors the water temperature and sends readings to the control board, telling the heater when to turn on or off. Without an accurate reading, the spa can: Fail to heat properly Overheat and become unsafe Throw error codes and shut down Common Problems This Probe Fixes: A faulty temperature probe can cause: E05 error code – caused by incorrect or missing temperature readings E03 - E04 error code – in some cases due to probe miscommunication If your Lay Z Spa displays E05, doesn’t heat up correctly, or the water gets too hot and shuts off, this part is likely the fix. Remove the top cover using a screwdriver. Locate the old temperature probe on the side of the heater block. Carefully unplug the old sensor and remove the seal. Insert the new sensor and new seal in the same position. Reassemble and test the spa.
