Refill pack composed of a filter foam and 2 separate special pad with ultra active carbon - Lasts 8 weeks/2 months. When combined the pad and sponge tackle the following: Removes nitrate and therefore reduces algae growth Reduces phosphate which helps reduce algae Clear water Active Carbon absorbs colour and toxic substances Zeolite which removes ammonia which is very harmful to fish Please note this is just the sponge and 2 carbon pad as the carbon should be replaced every month whereas the sponge can be replaced every 2 months. This does not include the clip on plastic base of the filter itself.
