We've been waiting 30 years for this album. The Rag Dolls was Dave Kusworth's band before he became the Jacobites with Nikki Sudden. Dave's guitar and vocals complemented by Simon "Slim" Cartwright on lead vocals, Mark Lemon on bass and Carl Bevan on drums, the band recorded three studio sessions between 1982 and 1984 from which only a couple of tracks appeared on compilations. "Such A Crime" corrects that oversight, with 15 studio tracks including original versions of "Pin Your Heart to Me" and "Snow White" (later recorded by The Jacobites) and 3 bonus live/rehearsal tracks. Dave Kusworth Inspired by the raw power of the Stooges and the glam rock excess of the New York Dolls, Birmingham, England, native Dave Kusworth formed his first band (TV Eye) at the age of 16. Since then, the versatile singer/songwriter/guitarist has done time in the Hawks, Rag Dolls, Dogs D'Amour, the Jacobites (with ex-Swell Maps mastermind Nikki Sudden), the Bounty Hunters, and the Tenderhooks, as well as his own Dave Kusworth Group. His songs, gutter-bound tales of rock & roll heartache that bring to mind the Faces and the Rolling Stones, have been covered by Evan Dando and Mercury Rev and feted by the likes of Tom Waits, Chuck Prophet, and Peter Buck.
