A chimney register plate, also known as a debris plate or closure plate, is designed to seal the chimney opening above a wood-burning stove, multi-fuel stove, solid fuel appliance, gas stove, or to close off an unused chimney. Manufactured from durable 1.5mm galvanised steel, it complies with UK Building Regulations, relevant British Standards, and HETAS requirements. The galvanised finish provides excellent corrosion resistance and can be painted with heat-resistant paint after installation for a neat, professional finish. A register plate is an essential part of any freestanding stove installation. Fitted between the stove flue pipe and the chimney breast, it creates a secure, draught-proof seal that helps prevent cold air, soot, dust, and debris from falling into the room. By sealing the base of the chimney, it also improves flue performance and helps your stove operate more efficiently. Installation is quick and straightforward using the supplied 20 x 20mm angle brackets. Each register plate is manufactured with a precision-cut flue opening to suit your installation, with flue sizes available from 3 inches upwards. The push-fit flue opening provides a secure fit around the flue pipe, eliminating the need for a separate flue collar or cover plate. For an even more airtight seal, optional fire cement is available and can be applied around the flue pipe and plate edges where required. Optional inspection hatches are also available, allowing easy access for annual chimney sweeping and routine maintenance.
