This Spears adapter pipe fitting, in white, is made of schedule 40 PVC and has a barbed insert end connection and a socket end connection. This adapter fitting connects pipes or fittings with different end types, diameters, or materials. It has a barbed male insert connection for fitting into a flexible tube on one end and a female socket connection for sliding over male unthreaded pipe on the other end. The barbed end allows a quick connection to tubing and the socket end connects to pipes with a smooth bore for enhanced flow. This schedule 40 (standard wall) fitting is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal. It is compatible with schedule 40 PVC pipes and fittings. PVC can be connected to other materials such as steel, copper, or cast iron using transition fittings.
