These pads when used with spikes can be used with audio components, speakers, speaker stands & sub woofers for: 1) Isolating and dampening unwanted influences on sonic reproduction. 2) Protecting wooden floors and other finished surfaces from spike marks. The spike shoes are made from 2 carefully selected materials to provide maximum performance and protection. Material 1: Polished Brass. (Various finishes available) Material 2: Black Elastomer (For isolation, floor protection and to resist movement) Please note that unlike felt or similar fabric material, the Black Elastomer base used on our spike shoes will resist movement, securely anchoring the speaker or HiFi Equipment and preventing unwanted lateral movement. Overall Height - 6 mm Overall Diameter - 20 mm MPORTANT: Installation of the Spike Shoes should be made by locating the Spike Shoes in the correct position on the floor and lowering the spiked equipment onto the shoes. This is recommended as a 2 person task, one to hold / tilt the equipment and the other to guide the spikes into the shoes. The shoes have a rubber pad to resist movement. If lateral motion is applied to the equipment when the spikes are located in the spike shoes, the rubber pads will try to resist this motion and could become dislodged. It is therefore not recommended to try and slide or move the equipment when the equipment's spikes are located in the spike shoes
