- A large evergreen shrub with large leathery green leaves heavily spotted or speckled with yellow.
- Variegata is a female form and carries small purplish flowers in late spring and if a male clone is grown nearby the flowers are followed by bright, red berries.
- A very tough and forgiving plant, tolerant of shade, drought, pollution and salt laden air but doesn’t like cold drying winds.
- Great for brightening up a dark corner of the garden or as a background for other contrasting plants.
- Given the correct site and conditions this is a spectacular plant and deserves to be much more widely used.
