Sodium Polyacrylate is a SAP Polymer, Super Absorbent Polymer. It can absorb up to 100 times its weight in water. 10 grams of sodium polyacrylate can absorb up to 1L of water. Sodium Polyacrylate has multiple uses. Its specially known as the main component of baby diaper, and responsible for their liquid absortion capabiliy. Sodium polyacrylate is also used in cold pads, water retaining pads, aplications where a retention of water is needed. It is also used to generate artificial snow, due to the similar aspect that it gets when it absorbs water.
