Product description These hoof pads are made of sheep wool felted onto a jute carrier, and the reason they work is that wool moulds. A flat pad sits on the sole; a wool pad takes the shape of the frog and follows the whole underside rather than one flat plane. Wool is breathable and hygroscopic, so it wicks moisture and gunge away from the hoof instead of trapping it there, and it will hold many times its own weight in moisture without feeling wet.
