The Wildlife World Simon King Blackbird Nester is a simple and effective way to encourage blackbirds and other open-nesting birds into your garden. Unlike traditional enclosed nest boxes, this open-front nesting platform is designed to mimic the natural nesting preferences of species such as blackbirds, robins, wagtails and spotted flycatchers. Developed using insights from naturalist Simon King, the design reflects years of observation into how birds select safe and suitable nesting sites. Made from natural woven materials, the nester blends discreetly into outdoor environments and can be positioned on walls, fences, trees, sheds or sheltered structures. For best results, place the nester in a quiet, hidden location, ideally between 1.5–3 metres high, protected from wind and predators. A perfect choice for wildlife-friendly gardens, beginner bird carers and low-cost garden improvements, this nesting platform offers a simple way to support birdlife and enjoy watching birds up close.
