The base is constructed from a very durable material to withstand extreme conditions and provide plenty of transparency for the clear view of the map. Underneath the base, it has several rubber "feet", which provide better contact with the map and prevents it from sliding over it. Unlike the Spike Jet Classic, it incorporates a "magnifying glass" in its base, which will help you to increase the area of the map you want. Comes with a comfortable and adjustable wrist strap to ensure that you don't lose the compass when you go out in search of the next control point.
