Japanese chisel is made of two pieces of steel. The cut part is carbon steel with high hardness. However, as the hardness increases, it becomes easier to chip, so soft iron is attached to hold it. In addition, soft iron realizes a reduction in polishing time when polishing the cutting edge. It achieves excellent cutting with traditional Japanese manufacturing method and keeps it for a long time. A typical Western woodwork chisel is made with a single blade and has a reduced hardness to prevent chipping of the cutting edge. When the product is shipped, the cutting edge polishing has a low particle size and is easily chipped, so it is necessary to re-polish with # 3000 or higher before use. The ring is for hitting with a hammer, but it is not fixed at the time of shipment in consideration of the possibility of pushing it by hand. In the case of hammer specifications, push in until the wood part comes out from the ring and hit the wood part that comes out with a hammer to fix the ring.
