Premium highly concentrated pigments - Highly lightfast. The SENNELIER solid extra-fine oil paint can be used alone or in addition to oil paints in tubes. The balanced color palette is sufficient to complete your works. The oil sticks from Sennelier come in either highly opaque shades (O) or glazing shades (T) depending on the pigment properties. Application: Apply directly with the pencil, using the tip or the side surface, with colors being mixable directly on the painting surface. Blendable with your finger, a fan brush, a paper wiper, or with turpentine. Wiping technique with turpentine oil, after-treatment with the knife or brush. The extra-fine oil sticks should be applied in thin layers (max. Applied in layers of 1 mm, the oil sticks can also be painted over in multiple layers. The sticks can be diluted with turpentine oil or usual oil painting diluents. Before use, the skin must be removed, which always reforms when the oil pencil is not used for a few days. The skin not only forms a protective barrier but also prevents drying out. The drying time of the applied paint is 2 to 5 days depending on the layer thickness, humidity and temperature. Substrate: use well prepared oil painting substrates (primed with gesso): linen, cotton, painting boards, wood or paper. After 6 months, the paint can be treated with a final varnish like conventional oil paints. Apply the varnish gently with a soft brush to avoid peeling the image layer. The product provides good colour retention even after many years and requires no special precautions.
