Grow sedum in a sunny position in fertile, well drained, non-acidic soil that has been enriched with well-rotted manure or garden compost. When growing sedum, water regularly during particularly hot dry periods until the plants are fully established. Cut back the old stems and foliage of spreading stonecrop plants after flowering to maintain their shape. Sedum is drought tolerant once fully established. Caution: All parts are harmful if eaten.
