This standard is different to a zinc plated finish as the base metal is hot dipped in zinc to seal all surfaces and edges with a thick coat and this provides excellent corrosion resistance. As a result, we always recommend a hot dip galvanized finish for use in sheltered outdoor locations where you want to fully protect against rust.
