Overview: The company started in 1985 as Double J (Midlands) Ltd., specializing in the supply of parts to the wheelchair and bicycle industries, by its previous managing director Philip Taylor and his brother, who had a bicycle manufacturing background. In May 2008, Schwalbe UK Ltd moved to a purpose built, state of the art facility in Telford. Its storage capacity is a third greater than the previous camp and it has enough land on site to be expanded by a further 50 percent if required. It can currently store up to 500,000 tires and 1.4 million inner tubes. You can find Schwalbe bicycle tires in the USA, Australia, Japan and South Africa. In Europe we are the market leader. We believe there are two reasons for this success: First - we are tire fanatics, absolutely specialized in bicycles and, for the past few years, also in wheelchairs. Second - Our tires cannot be found everywhere, but only in specialist shops, because our competent advice and good service are a must. And we know: Only specialist retailers can ensure both.
