Deluxe Microfibre 3 Piece Saxophone Pull-Through Set (One pull-through for the main body of the saxophone; one pull-through for the neck; and a third, smaller pull-through for the mouthpiece) - Complete with storage pouch, and a large sized polishing cloth which doubles as a case liner. At last, a saxophone cleaning set without the gimmicks, just the things you really need to clean the saxophone and its component parts safely and efficiently. Our beautifully crafted 3 piece saxophone pull-through set along with an exceptionally beautiful breathable pouch to put it all in, ensures safe and effective cleaning of all 3 parts of the instrument. The pouch fits nicely inside the bell of the saxophone making it particularly convenient for the many professional players who use lightweight, space efficient style gig cases, that have very limited storage space for accessories or cleaning materials. By consulting with professional players, we have created traditional pull-through shaped cleaning cloths, rather than the elongated cone shape ones which have a tendency to snag inside the top, much narrower part of the instrument. In addition, we wanted to give our customers a pull-through which can also be fed through the top, narrow part of the saxophone so that you're pulling the moisture away from the key work towards, and past the bow. This makes a great deal more sense, in our opinion. Of course, you can always feed it through the bell if that's your preference, but with our product, you have a choice. All three pull-throughs can be rolled or folded extremely quickly to fit nicely inside the storage pouch, which itself can be left safely inside the bell for safe storage without damaging the instrument. Our pull-through set, is best suited for the Alto Saxophone, the shape and size of the largest pull-through being 'just right', something we like to call the 'Goldilocks effect'. That said, by using a to and fro pulling motion on both ends of the ribbon, or running the pull-through a couple of times through the instrument, it can be used effectively to clean tenor saxes, which is why we have designed our pull-throughs with sufficiently long ribbon lengths. Pulling both ends in a to and fro motion should sufficiently clean the moisture inside the bow with ease. Cleaning your saxophone couldn't be easier. Once you have used the pull-through to dry the inside of the instrument, just slide your pad saver (if you have one) back inside the tubing. Having already removed all, or almost all of the moisture (no pull-through for any instrument ever removes 100% of moisture, 100% of the time), the pad saver now acts as a secondary measure to limit moisture exposure, rather than the first or only measure. Storing the pull-throughs in our beautiful breathable pouch will further minimise moisture exposure and help prevent damage and corrosion to the instrument. The mid size pull-through is designed for drying the neck of both an alto and tenor sax efficiently, whilst the separate use of the smallest pull-through, again suitable for both alto and tenor saxophone mouthpieces, should help protect and prolong the life of the mouthpiece. The use of abrasive brushes to clean mouthpieces, or tooth brushes to clean reeds should be avoided. Mouthpieces are delicate, precise and expensive bits of kit, and using hard bristle brushes to clean them is completely unnecessary and, more than likely, will damage the delicate lay and chamber of the mouthpiece. No professional saxophonist would ever use these brushes in this manner. This is precisely the reason we haven't included them in our set.
