Parr’s Sanding Sealer can be applied before our wax or oil finishes to help seal the wood. The shellac seals and gives open grained wood a smoother finish. It also can protect from stains and adds greater water resistance. Can also be used on plastered walls to seal damp or stained patches. Suitable for sealing mdf. Parr’s sanding sealer is also an effective knot sealer. Can be used on turned wood. Preparation All unfinished wood pieces should be prepared by sanding before applying our sanding sealer and then remove all dust particles. Sanding will reduce surface scratches on the wood which will minimize drying time and will also provide a more even sheen. We recommend finishing with 320 grit or higher prior to application of our sanding sealer. Application Apply a thin even coat to the wood with a lint free cloth, brush or sprayed .Leave to dry for 30mins and gently sand with 320g sand paper as the grain will raise slightly. Apply second coat for best results and again sand lightly. You are now ready to apply our oils or waxes. For stained or damp patches on plastered walls apply liberally. We recommend 3 coats, then apply paint finish.
