Samyang's 100mm F2.8 ED UMC MACRO is a macro telephoto manual focus lens designed for full frame sensor sizes. With a maximum close-up magnification or 1:1, this macro lens features vivid colour and soft out-focusing, making it an ideal lens for close-up images of flowers and insects. It also can be used as a 100mm telephoto lens for landscapes and portraits. The Samyang 100mm F2.8 ED UMC MACRO has a low F number of F2.8 allowing you to precisely control the lens when shooting under various exposure environments including relatively dark situations. The lens features 15 lenses in 12 groups, including a high refractive lens (HR) and an extra low dispersion lens (ED) to minimise colour aberration and unnecessary light dispersion, resulting in a high resolution throughout the image. Samyang's Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) is used to optimise the light penetration and minimises flare and ghosting. 0.307m minimum focusing distance helps to capture the object in close proximity. The lens features 9 aperture blades which are designed to be almost a full circle when the aperture is closed. This produces starlike rays clearly and beautifully. The solid frame of the lens is constructed from high-strength aluminium alloy which allows the lens to be lightweight, yet strong. A detachable petal-shaped lens hood further minimises flare and ghosting by sheltering the lens from unwanted stray light.
