Sambucus Nigra Black Beauty produces burgundy-black leaves that are a perfect contrast with its pink flowers. These flowers have a sweet scent of lemon that are carried in dense panicles in early summer and later replaced by glossy black elderberries that are loved by birds. This hardy shrub makes a decorative specimen for wildlife gardens, large borders, and woodland areas. Height: 6m (20”). Spread: 4m (12”). Grow Sambucus in any moist but well drained soil in full sun or dappled shade, plants will also survive on poor, chalky soils.
