Product Description Capable of accommodating a range of large-diaphragm recording microphones typically found in the world's top recording studios, Rycote' s USM makes use of patented, vibration-resistant Lyre technology. Specially-designed Lyres are placed around a central mounting ring with adjustable fasteners, allowing the USM to securely hold a variety of industry-standard Large Diaphragm Condenser mics. Elasticated components are completely omitted, and modern materials are used to create a virtually indestructible shock-mount with a performance that far outstrips older designs. In controlled tests in Rycote' s RandD facilities, the USM provided up to twice the isolation of traditional microphone suspension systems. Rycote InVision Mounts have been available for a wide range of microphones in broadcast and videography applications, but it wasn't until 2010 -- with the release of the Universal Studio Mount, or 'USM' -- that an InVision shock-mount was capable of accommodating large-diaphragm recording microphones typically found in the world's top recording studios. Like Rycote' s other InVision mounts, the USM makes use of patented, vibration-resistant Lyre technology.
