Roof Rack Padded Upright Bars for Canoe / Kayak (PAIR) Spec : These pair of upright bars are the ideal accessory when wishing to carry multiple canoes or kayaks on your roof bars. By placing your canoes and kayaks against the bars sideways you can fit more on. I have seen upto 6 kayaks on bars fitted with uprights. The longer 50cm bar is more suited to wider canoes and kayaks such as SIT ON TOPS. On top of the bars there are 2 metal loops which are the perfect size to fit the standard 25mm wide strap through. With the 2 loop arrangement its possible to keep one side independent of the other without the straps snagging on each other. I have been using uprights for years, and this twin loop arrangement is a great new feature I wish I had before. This loop arrangement in my opinion is better than the flat type of upright bar that has a single slot. This style of upright is great for a single kayak, but I have found that the slot can only fit 1 strap through it, making it difficult to carry kayaks on either side with independent straps fitted. The bars are made of steel with quality welds and powder coated. They also come PADDED to keep your pride and joy free from scratches. The plates that secure the upright to the roofbar are wide enough to fit on AEROBARS. I personally use Aerobars and have these uprights fitted without any problems. The pictures show the bars fitted to both Aero and Square Thule bars. I have included a picture of the 40cm upright bar i also sell for comparison.
