• This lightweight turnout which has been specifically designed for heavier breeds, is a excellent rug for milder wet and windy conditions or for hardier types in colder months. A matching neck cover is available for extra protection from the elements - neck cover is listed separately.
• To ensure a good fit for heavier breeds these rugs are cut so there is extra depth down the sides and more generous at the shoulder and chest, they have very generous shoulder pleats to allow for freer movement of the horse and reduce risk of rubbing.
• Made from 1200D waterproof/breathable/windproof outer fabric which has the added benefit of Teflon coating making it tougher and more resistance to moisture and staining. Soft nylon lining which helps to prevent rubbing and keep the coat smooth
• 50g filling which does not provide much warm but we believe the light layer of filling allows the air to circulate between the horse and the outer fabric which we believe helps to keep the horses coat in good condition especially in wet and windy conditions
• Wither protector fitted for comfort and Velcro fastenings either side of protector for fastening the neck if one required (listed separately) – there is a flap over the Velcro to protect if a neck is not required
• Double adjustable chest straps with D rings and trigger clips making putting on and off quick and easy. Detachable webbing leg straps and double cross surcingles with rubber washers
• Machine washable and are packed in a zipped bag with handles – useful for storing the rug when not in use

The Ruggles heavy horse 50g 1200D V2 turnout rug has been designed specifically to fit the heavier breeds such as the Shire, Clydesdale, Percheron and so on so are deeper and more generous at the shoulder and chest. The rug is sold as a standard rug and necks can be purchased, if required. The necks are listed separately. Made from 1200D waterproof and breathable outer fabric, this rug has also been Teflon coated which provides extra protection, less staining and absorption so moisture beads from the outside of the rug making the rug lighter to handle in wet conditions. Other features of this rug are cross surcingles with rubber washers to help unfastening, a very generous tail flap with reflective strip, taped seams, very generous shoulder pleat to allow for freer movement of the horse and a wither protector. There are detachable webbing leg straps which are not sewn in – meaning that they can be removed if not required or easily replaced (without the need for expensive repairs) if damaged. At the chest there are double adjustable chest straps with D rings and trigger clips ensuring that once adjusted to the horse putting on and off is nice and quick as just two clips to attach. Velcro at the chest also features. Either side of the wither protector are Velcro fastenings for attaching a neck cover if required – the matching necks are listed separately. There are reflective strips at the chest, hind quarters and tail flap – useful if leading on roads. The rugs are machine washable and are packed in a zipped bag with handles – useful for storing the rug when not in use.
