- This pack contains a set of five mint stamps, which were produced to mark the 50th anniversary of D-Day. Code-named "Operation Overlord" the plan to attack Germany's Atlantic wall defences began on the 6th June after a 24-hour delay due to bad weather. It was anticipated that resistance would be strong, but by 12th June (D+6) the Allies had established a 60 mile bridgehead with over 150,000 troops landed.
