Only if you need to drive over stones, paths or not lawns, should they reach for stainless steel. A small change may be required to the charging station so that the robot can dock. The item comes with appropriate wedges to adjust the charging socket if necessary. No additional tools are required for the change. The hub cap can no longer be attached after mounting the spikes. Plastic spikes can be made up to an outer diameter of 320 mm. The spikes are simply mounted on the existing wheels with the included screws (not pneumatic tyres). ). Which variant to choose for plastic: v1 is designed for soft ground. v2 is designed for hard ground. v3 is for soft ground and sloping surfaces (e.g. wall, hill). v4 is for hard ground and sloping surfaces (e.g. wall, hill). The v3 and v4 variants have an inner ring that distributes the shear forces on sloping surfaces better on the spikes and thus offers more stability. The PETG spikes are designed exclusively for lawns. Lawns are made of lawn! Not made of gravel, washed concrete slabs or other surfaces that are not made of lawn. Why not use metal spikes: The gears of the robotic lawnmowers are usually made of PA6 or PA12 plastic. If the spikes become stuck, for whatever reason, the gear may break. In most cases, this is an economic total damage. Therefore, please use spikes made of PETG plastic. The advantages of PETG compared to stainless steel or aluminium spikes are very simple. PETG is slightly flexible (5-6% elasticity), the breaking strength is slightly below PA6, so in case of stuck, the spike would break and not the gearbox. If you use metal spikes, the gear breaks. Do not use spikes made of ABS. ABS is under no circumstances UV resistant and becomes porous and brittle over time. Providers that supposedly offer weatherproof or UV-resistant ABS deliberately make false information. Depending on the sunlight, these spikes will last 2-3 years, but they will not have any warranty if they disassemble into their components. The item comes without finish.
