You Can Change Your Life In A Dance Class Berlin, January 2003. In the arena, the old omnibus remise in the industrial port, amazing things happen. 250 Berlin children and teenagers from 25 nations dance Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps, choreographed by Royston Maldoom and accompanied by the Berlin Philharmonic: the orchestra's first major education project with its chief conductor Sir Simon Rattle. Rhythm Is It! accompanies three youthful protagonists during the three-month rehearsal period. Marie, who is still worried about her secondary school graduation; Olayinka, only recently came to Germany as a war orphan from Nigeria; and Martin, who has to struggle with his own inner barriers. Stubborn and with great love, Royston Maldoom and his team lead the first dance steps of children and teenagers, most of whom have no experience with classical music. In the course of rehearsals they learn all the ups and downs, uncertainty, self-confidence, doubt and enthusiasm: an emotional journey into new, unimagined worlds and to hidden facets of their personalities.
