Product Description Developed in 1943, the Tiger II, unofficially referred to as the king tiger, was produced by Henschel in series from 1944. The King Tiger combined the demands for armour protection and firepower in an outstanding way. The front armour of up to 150 mm thick could not be penetrated by bullets from the on-board cannons of enemy battle tanks. The tub sides were armoured up to 80 mm thick. Despite several massive bombing attacks by the Allies on the Henschel factory in Kassel, including the prototypes and 50 vehicles equipped with Porsche tower, a total of 492 Tiger II were delivered to the troop. But not all of this reached the front bandages.
