With our Radon TMT-RD-35 meter, you can determine the concentration of radon in your home. Since radon concentrations vary sharply, the device has the possibility of a short and long term measurement. The short time measurement can be set for 1 to 7 days and the measurement is updated every 30 minutes. In long term mode, the average values of the last 365 days are displayed. This value is updated every 24 hours. Dangerous high concentrations are indicated by an optical warning. These measurements help them to identify the dangers caused by excessive radon concentrations and to avoid them by appropriate countermeasures. Radon is considered to be one of the most common causes of lung cancer in addition to smoking. Radon is a radioactive pollutant that is found as natural gas and escapes from floors and building materials. Above the cellar walls and the basement, Radon penetrates the interior of houses where it can grow considerably due to poor ventilation. The gas is invisible, it smells and does not taste and penetrates the houses unnoticed by cracks and joints in the cellar. The average radon concentration in flats in Germany is about 50 Bq/m3. 100 Bq/m3 should not be exceeded in the annual average. Often simple measures such as daily bump ventilation or permanent ventilation with open windows on the wind-facing side are enough. In the house there is an overprint, no further radon is "suctioned" from the ground and existing radon is "blown out" from the house. It should also be ensured that any production of underpressure in the house is avoided, such as fans for ventilation in the kitchen or bathroom, or poor ventilation of the heating system. All this leads to underpressure in the house and consequently to the intake of radon from the substrate.
