Colourful blooms, primroses (Primula vulgaris) brighten up any room in the house from late winter through early spring. Compact pots work best because your primrose plant will be more comfortable in a smaller setting. Both plastic and glazed pots hold water well, which leads to moist soil, but make sure it also has a drainage hole to reduce the risk of root rot. When choosing the right potting soil, look for one specifically for indoor flowering plants, which should contain the blend of nutrients your primroses require. Once your primrose plant is securely planted, water it until the soil is moist, but not waterlogged. Check the soil regularly, and add water when the soil starts to dry.
