The shelf life of the product is 6 months from the date of purchase with the exception of the 25 kg sacks which is 3-6 months depending on the date of manufacture (printed on the side of the bag). When used as a modelling plaster acrylic paints can be used to either paint after casting or to mix with the water prior to casting to give colour throughout the model. Use of additives like acrylic polymer can greatly increase the strength and provide water resistance / waterproofing to a model. It also gives a shiny slightly glossy finish.
