Product description
Humulus lupulus, best known as the Common Hop, is an attractive climbing plant often seen scrambling freely through country hedgerows. Itโs best known for its papery green flowers, which when dried can be used in beer brewing. This hardy plant will grow just about anywhere, but despite its vigorous and healthy nature itโs not too boisterous at all and wonโt take over your garden. The stems and foliage are very soft and delicate, and at the end of the season they simply die back entirely before growing new ones the following year. This pretty climber is perfect for anyone who enjoys a natural look as well as for wildlife gardens. Pot up hop plants and grow them on until large enough to plant in their final positions. When planting hops, choose a position in sun or partial shade and provide a climbing support for the stems. When growing hops in patio containers, use a soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3. Remove any stems as and when necessary if they spread too far. At the end of the season, remove the stems and foliage at the base. Position: Full Sun/Partial Shade Height: Up to 8m when fully established Spread: Up to 3m when fully established Supplied as 2 x Humulus lupulus (Hop) plant in a 9cm Pot. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
