If your pond is 'in balance' they'll last an age but if your levels are incorrect they will release their healthy bacteria and enzymes to help compensate. These gel filled spheres are crammed full of healthy bacteria and enzymes. They biodegrade and slowly release contents which break down Ammonia and Nitrite, whilst cleaning up orgasnic waste.
