- PREMIUM WINTER FOOD HIGH IN WHEATGERM Wheatgerm is a premium product that is extracted from wheat seed. Only 5% of the seed is actual wheatgerm and under EU regulations at least 14% of the pellet must contain wheatgerm to be classed as "HIGH IN WHEATGERM". Pet Friend pellets contain 19% wheatgerm so you can be assured of a quality winter food.
- LOW WASTE = CLEANER WATER Wheatgerm is an easily digested protein which is especially important in the winter months when the fishes metabolism slows down due to colder water temperatures. Animal proteins are not easily digested at these colder temperatures and tend to pass straight through the fishes gut where they are then excreted into the water. These undigested foods then break down in the pond polluting the water and causing poor water quality and potential health problems for your fish.
- MEDIUM (5MM) FLOATING PELLET ideally size to feed a wide variety of fish including goldfish koi and orfe. Pellets will float on the water surface and attract hungry fish to feed, any food remaining after 5 minutes of feeding should then be removed. Please note your fishes appetite will vary depending on water temperature and frequency of feeding.
- PREMIUM FISH FOOD CONTAINS VITAMINS A D E & C. These essential vitamins and amino acids help ensure your fish have the correct nutrients to sustain your fish through the long arduous winter months. That will ensure your fishes health through the winter months helping them to maintain good vigour, colour and body shape through to spring. Healthy well fed fish will have better resistance to parasites and disease when the water starts warming up.
- FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS Feed 3 or 4 times a day when the water temperature exceeds 6C (42F) or when fish are actively seeking food. Feed only what your fish will eat in five minutes. Remove any uneaten food when your fish have finished feeding. Supplied in re-sealable human food grade foil lined pouches to ensure freshness and maintain the quality of the product after opening.
