Product description
Persicaria bistorta 'Superba' is a resilient and attractive perennial that brings long-lasting colour and texture to the garden. A traditional cottage garden favourite, it produces masses of pale pink, bottlebrush-like flower spikes from midsummer to September. These delicate blooms rise gracefully above a carpet of lush, semi-evergreen foliage, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. This knotweed variety is known for its spreading habit, creating superb ground cover with minimal care. Tolerant of a wide range of soil types and growing conditions, it thrives in everything from damp pond margins to ordinary garden borders. As an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, it’s a dependable performer that suits both formal and informal planting schemes. Growing Advice: Plant in fertile, moist soil in sun or partial shade. It will tolerate boggy sites as well as drier areas once established. Give the plant enough room to spread naturally and form dense clumps. Aftercare: Persicaria is undemanding once established. Water during dry spells in its first season. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring or autumn to maintain vigour and control spread. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months). Decorative pots are not supplied.
