Manufacturer's Description These beaters are a little longer and thicker than the PP458 lead pan sticks and are designed to get the same clarity from slightly larger and deeper pans. The rubber used to make the single layer head is also softer, which helps to bring out the fuller sonority of double tenors. Each shaft is made from a carefully selected hardwood dowel. The heads for our steel pan mallets are made by our partners in Akron, Ohio, known as the rubber capital of the world - indeed, their closely guarded polymer recipes can be found in a rich variety of applications around the globe. After extensive research, they have created the perfect textures, densities, and shapes for the distinctive Caribbean percussion instruments.
