Product description ** We check every culture batch in our lab with research-grade microscope to make sure the live phytoplankton you receive is safe to use in your reef system, without any contamination from rotifers, copepods or bacteria. Concentrated live phytoplankton (Tetraselmis), cultured with sterilised saltwater (salinity of 1.025). Freshly harvested on the same day when your order is posted. Excellent for your reef tank feeding your corals, pods, rotifers, brine shrimps etc, creating a diverse ecosystem in your tank. Tetraselmis is a single-celled phytoplankton. However, compared to nannochloropsis sp. (which we also sell in our Amazon shop), its cells are larger and motile, and present better nutritional value in protein, with high level of lipids (omega-3) and fibres. As well as dosing on its own, when dosing together with nannochloropsis, the mixture presents more complementary nutrition to your reef systems. Can be kept in fridge (3-5 degree Celsius) for 4-8 weeks or longer (thorough shaking required every 2-3 days and avoid contamination, e.g. with tank water, to maximise its 'shelf life'). Keep your protein skimmer off for 1 hour after dosage to maximise effectiveness. * Dosage for rotifer/copepods culture depends on the water volume - typically 20-50ml dosage into a 1L culture solution to achieve a lightly-tinted green colour.
