Product Description Binocular Overview When (relatively) small binoculars start doing what (relatively) big binoculars are supposed to do, then we at PENTAX know we are doing something right. The DCF NV is constructed from extremely durable light-weight polycarbonate and features fully multicoated lenses, ensuring excellent resolution and contrast under tough conditions. Both models in the new PENTAX DCF NV range feature top of the range technology, first class resolution and excellent outdoor performance. Pin-sharp viewing is possible thanks to superb optics, and the well thought-out optical design assures the best use of low light conditions. Comfort is an important factor and both models offer easy viewing over long periods, plus a compact light weight design and of course weather and dust proofing. Waterproof and Dustproof The product is fully waterproof and has maximum protection against rain, dust, moisture, or internal fogging due to extreme temperature fluctuations. The binoculars are double O-ring sealed as well as nitrogen-purged so that temporary (i.e. accidental) immersion into 1 metre of water will have no negative effects. Phase Correction Coating on Prisms A prism is a complex optical element necessary to correct the image the right way up and reduce overall length of the binocular. In a prism, light travels through complicated angles and so the quality of the prism glass used is of significant importance. PENTAX uses exclusively high-index BaK4 prisms, made of very pure Barium glass. In roof prism binoculars, light rays are mirrored several times which can result in reduced light transmission. By adding an additional Phase Correcting coating, the light rays frequencies are corrected to their original values Light Weight Reinforced Polycarbonate Body This enables you to keep viewing long in to the day with hardly any fatigue, great for those long days out.
