Product description Parr’s water based wood dye can be used on all types of wood like pine(softwood) and all hardwoods like oak, ash, elm, maple, beech, iroko, walnut, mahogany etc… Sample colour is on pine, colour will be darker on hardwoods. Our wood dye can be used on doors, windows, skirtings, flooring, kitchen units. worktops, beams, all types of furniture, wood panelling for a few examples. How to apply Parr’s natural wood dye Wood Preparation All unfinished wood pieces should be prepared by sanding to a 320 grit before applying our wood dye, we also recommend all sanding dust is removed. Application Our wood dye can be applied by brush, cloth, mini foam roller or sprayed. Please shake the bottle well prior to use to ensure a uniform colour. Apply liberally in the direction of the wood grain ensuring an even coat is applied. As the dye is water based the wood grain will be slightly raised once dry. The wood will need a light rub with 320g sandpaper being careful not to apply too much pressure and remove any colour. Apply a second coat of our wood dye. When dry the wood can be sealed and finished with wood oils , waxes or varnish. We recommend the use of protective gloves and eye wear to prevent staining and once finished all application tools can be cleaned with water Directions All unfinished wood pieces should be prepared to a 320 grit before applying our wood paint. We also recommend that all sanding dust be removed. Our wood paint can be applied with brush, cloth, mini foam roller or spray. Please shake the bottle well before use to ensure uniform color. Apply generously towards the wood grain to ensure an even layer. As the dye is water-based, the wood grain is slightly lifted after drying. The wood needs to be lightly rubbed with 320g sandpaper. Be careful not to apply too much pressure and remove any paint. Apply a second coat of our wood paint. After drying, the wood can be sealed and finished with wood oils, waxes or varnishes. We recommend using protective gloves and glasses to avoid discolouration. Once finished, all application tools can be cleaned with water.
