Parasites live at the "expense" of the human body - an infestation can run for years without any symptoms or complaints. Recognizing parasites is therefore important to stop their further spread as early as possible. Our Parasites Complete Check is a combination test that examines parasites present in the stool. In addition, it includes a sticky tape test for pinworms/threadworms. In our latitudes, infection with pinworms is the most common worm disease in humans. Often threadworms are also referred to as "children's pinworms", although adults can be equally affected. Threadworms cannot be detected by a stool test because they do not shed their eggs in the stool. For the parasites complete check, a sticky tape sample is included. The test checks for the following parameters: 1.) Worm eggs (from stool sample) 2.) Cryptosporidium spec. (from stool sample) 3.) Entamoeba histolytica (from stool sample) 4.) Giardia lamblia (from stool sample) 5.) Blastocystis hominis (from stool sample) 6.) Pinworms/threadworms (sticky tape test) Note: Eggs of the fox tapeworm cannot be determined via this test. Imaging procedures must be performed here. How does the test work? After ordering, a test kit will be delivered to you. You take the samples comfortably at home and then send them back to the Verisana laboratory. After the analysis, the results of your sample will be sent to you via email.
