- SOW: March to May, August to October, FLOWERS: June to September, HEIGHT: 60cm, SPREAD: 30cm, SEEDS: 25 Approx.
- FOR OUTDOOR SOWING: WHEN - March to May or August to October. WHERE – In a prepared seed bed in flowering position. HOW - Sow thinly in rows 40cm apart. Cover lightly with 0.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. CARE - When large enough thin to 5cm apart. After 2-3 weeks thin to 25cm apart. FLOWERS – June to October. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering.
- FOR INDOOR SOWING: WHEN - March to April. WHERE – In trays of seed compost. HOW - Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20℃. Seedlings appear 14-28 days. CARE - Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Then transplant 25cm apart in flowering position. FLOWERS – June to September. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering.
- TIP: Protect autumn sowings with cloches over winter.
