- ONION STURON ORGANIC SEEDS: A classic, loved for its reliable harvests of large straw coloured bulbs. Tastes great, stores well and resists bolting, for a longer harvest period.
- SOW: January to April, HARVEST: August to September, SEEDS: 200 Approx.
- FOR INDOOR SOWING: WHEN - January to February, for the biggest bulbs. WHERE - In trays of seed compost. HOW - Sow thinly, cover with 1.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20℃. Seedlings appear 14-28 days. CARE - When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Plant out 20cm apart. Keep moist and weed free. HARVEST – August to September.
- FOR OUTDOOR SOWING: WHEN - March to April. WHERE - In a prepared seed bed. HOW - Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil and keep moist. CARE - When large enough thin to 20cm apart, use thinnings for salads or transplant them to grow on. Keep moist and weed free. HARVEST – August to September.
