- ONION SPRING PERFORMER SEEDS: The long, slender stems are slow to bulb making them ideal for growing in pots and perfect for eating in salads and stir-fries.
- SOW: March to September, HARVEST: May to April, SEEDS: 250 Approx.
- FOR OUTDOOR SOWING: WHEN - March to September. WHERE - In deep pots or a prepared seed bed. HOW - Sow thinly in a pot or tub, ideally at least 30cm diameter and 25cm deep, or in rows 15cm apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 14-21 days. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.
- CARE - No thinning is needed if sown thinly. Keep moist and weed free. Protect later sowings with fleece or cloches. HARVEST – free. Protect later sowings with fleece or cloches. March to June sowings from May to October. Sowings from July onwards are ready from November to April, but should be protected from severe winter weather. Harvest alternate onions from the row, leaving others to grow on.
