Oldroyd Xv Black Membrane is a studded black polypropylene cavity drainage membrane for waterproofing and radon protection. It can be used to line and waterproof internal floors and walls in the same way as its sister product, Oldroyd Xv Clear. However Oldroyd Xv Black benefits from enhanced environmental credentials as it contains a minimum of 56% recycled plastic. Because this is incorporated between two layers of virgin plastic using Oldroyd's novel multi-layer-technology, this is achieved with no loss of product performance. Typical applications include: Basement and cellar waterproofing (BS8102 Type C) External drainage layer (basement waterproofing) Tunnel & arch waterproofing Covering damp & contaminated walls and floors Radon protection Oldroyd Xv Black can be used to provide "full radon protection" as defined in BR211 (call our technical department for details). Installation: Oldroyd Xv is fixed to walls using special self-sealing plugs (Oldroyd Brick Plugs with Seals). The fixing plugs are able to accept No.12 screws - facilitating the application of plasterboard via timber battens or an aluminium framing system. When used on floors, fixings are not usually necessary. Various types of screed and timber flooring can be applied on top of Oldroyd Xv. Sections of Oldroyd Xv can be joined using Oldroyd double-sided tape. Where a double-seal is required (e.g. radon protection) Oldroyd overseal tape can be used to provide an additional seal. When used as a basement waterproofing system, Oldroyd Xv Black should be used in conjunction with Aquadrain perimeter drainage channel and the Sentry Sump System.
