With our TMT-RHS-28ATC refractometer you can quickly and accurately determine the salt content and the specific weight. This refractometer is used for measuring salt/sea water and concentrated salt solutions of all kinds. This is important, for example, in the food industry, in the field of fish farming plants and private sea water aquaristics. Due to its double scale and the integrated automatic temperature compensation system (10-30°C) the offered hand refractometer offers maximum precision and ease of use. The scale shows density (1,000 to 1,070) and salinity (0-100%) in per mille. It is made in a very sturdy design with plastic housing and plastic-coated handle. The device achieves a high accuracy of (+/- 0.001). For calibration of the refractometer, simply distilled or osmosis water is used. Example of use for aquarium: The precise determination of the salinity of the aquarium water can already be avoided in advance a whole series of problems that could occur due to a drastic deviation in the salt content, e.g. during water change. The measurement is very simple. Add a few drops of salt water or the liquid to be measured to the prism and close the prism flap. The liquid to be tested must be evenly distributed under the flap. Wait about 30 seconds for the temperature to be adjusted and then hold the device against the light. Thanks to the eyepiece, you can immediately read the exact value on the scales.
