The F.r.a.m. ship was a famous Norwegian vessel designed to withstand the extreme conditions of polar expeditions of the late 19th century. Built in 1892, its reinforced structure allowed it to venture into inhospitable regions of the Arctic and Antarctic. Under the command of the famous Fridtjof Nansen, the F.r.a.m. reached latitudes never explored before, making it critical in finding new routes through the ice. Later, the ship served on explorer Otto Sverdrup's expeditions, mapping unknown areas of northern Canada, and legendary Roald Amundsen, who, with his help, became the first man to reach the South Pole in 1911.
